Hello there! My name is Noah, and I am a practicing somatic therapist with the Flatirons Relationship Center. The intersection between my past academic pursuits within neuroscience and my work in dance and movement facilitation led me into the field of somatics. To me somatic work offers a beautiful blend of exploring the whys of our experience (grounded in neuroscience, psychoeducation and counseling theory) and the actual experiencing (the embodied, sensational, in-the-moment components informing the ways we interact with the world).
My work focuses on how relational wounds — whether stemming from our relationships to others, the self, or environment — are best healed when we notice the ways our body moves, feels, and responds in our relationships. I believe that bringing attention and intention to our patterns of expectation, desire, and our needs is one of the best gifts we can give ourselves, as well as those we care about. In my work I find that it is through bringing awareness to both the body and mind that one can best move into feelings of choice, and freedom, whether that be in service of our roles as friend, partner, or parent.
I hope to work with individuals, couples, and families that are interested in turning in, and engaging more fully in the relationships that feel nurturing and important in their lives. I am particularly interested in supporting folks exploring non-traditional relationship and family structures, as well as those who are interested in deepening their understanding of identity and the impact of social stories on their internalization of relational roles. In broader terms, I am excited to support those who feel stuck in patterns of relationship that are not working and are excited to stretch, grow, and experience the relational flexibility they desire. In all my work, I aim to help create a space of non-judgement and curiosity, a space that holds the importance of fun and excitement within work that can feel daunting, difficult, and vulnerable.
